Lol. In my previous post the recommendation was, "no, don't buy one right now." Now it's different. >.<

Ok, any store recommendations? And last question, how bad is the scanline problem with PSP 3000 screen?

Why Buy PSP? Simple

Big PSP releases:

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker
Persona 3 Portable
Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep
Valkyria Chronicles 2
Patapon 3
God of War: Ghost of Sparta

June to December lineups :bigmouth:

Take your pick

Even the "great" PS3 wouldn't top that (at least for the remaining months)

You will appreciate the game more if you're into (or gonna go) legit and it's nice to have a proof of ownership unlike those PinoyPSP scrubs

ako, i bought a psp because one day nagising ako and naisip ko na gusto ko ng psp...so i went to the nearest abenson branch and bought my unit. that was 3 years ago. and di naman ako nagsisi (at least for one year)... ngayon, inaalikabukan na land din ang psp 2000 ko....and binigyan pa ako recently ng psp 3000....

but if you are the kind of person who is on-the-go and wants a small but complete multimedia gadget, buy yourself a psp...you'll do yourself a big favor especially if nasa airport ka.

the scanlines, in my scrutiny, are very negligible. in fact the only time i notice it is when i force myself to look for it. the PSP3k has a better pixel sub structure that the lower models does not have, and THAT is noticeable! (aside from the deeper color which is more more noticeable). the pros just simply override that con.

going the legit way... kudos, i am in that direction... i like seeing my UMD collections and the challenge of buying each of them at the best possible price. i ain't a heavy gamer, but so far i am not regretting anything.

I decided to go for it so I got one last Saturday and enjoying it so far. :) I've loaded it with PS One classics including FF VIII, which I still haven't completed after many years. Haha. Good thing I have a PS3; I can't imagine downloading a 1.8GB game on the PSP over wireless connection. I've also tried out the comics reader, and it's great. I like how the free flow(?) works.

I realized that this little portable actually has a lot of potential in it so I'm wondering why it seems to be failing. It's been getting poor support from game developers overall. Piracy? I'm not sure, but if that's it, it's quite sad and frustrating. 'yong mga stores na napuntahan ko, ina-assume nila na modified 'yong hinahanap ng buyer; naka-package pa with free games. Some didn't even have untouched units. That's not surprising though; marami naman talagang ganyan e. But the thing is, those stores I went to make it look like it's the most acceptable thing to do. Parang ganon talaga ang gawi; as if Sony designed it that way. It's quite paradoxical that the people who distribute this system and profit from it are the ones helping kill it.

Lack of novelty? Well, that's more of game developer issue. We really can't blame lack of creativity on the hardware, can we?

I bought a brand new PSP 3000 last December in Mr. Dynamic (blue color). Sadly, it's just gathering dust right now since I'm not that excited with the games there. But if anyone can recommend a really addictive simple game, please inform me so that I can fully utilize it.

I'm still looking for official PSP 3000 battery cover. Wish Akiba was just a train away. *sigh*

Anyway, right now, I find my PSP very useful; sulit s'ya para sa akin. Ngayon nalalaro ko na 'yong FFVIII, which I've put off for years. After this, I'm going for FF IX, which I haven't been able to complete as well. Then maybe I'll play VII again after that. Maybe Grandia again, then some more classic RPGs. Considering that there's this PS One classics library for the PSP, sulit na talaga. Also, it's now easier for me to catch up on anime series I've been following. Usually kasi sa bahay masgusto kong PS3/360 games ang nilalaro ko so walang time for classics, and none even for anime.
